Opening hours

The CopperString Experience Centre is open seven days a week.
Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 4:00pm
Saturday and Sunday: 9:00am – 1:00pm

Closed all Queensland Public Holidays including Townsville Show Holiday.

At the CopperString Experience Centre, we’re committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming space for every visitor. We partnered with Autism Spectrum Australia (ASPECT)  to develop our Hidden Disabilities Program.

Our Visual Story guide offers a comprehensive overview of what you can expect when you come to the CopperString Experience Centre. It includes detailed information about our facilities, the different areas within the centre, and what activities and experiences are available. It sure is! We are open from Monday to Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Of course! The Urban Corner building and the Experience Centre is accessible with ramp access from both Stanley and Hanran Streets.

We’re also proud to offer a virtual experience online. Allowing you to experience the centre without leaving home.

Unfortunately eating or drinking in the CopperString Experience Centre is not permitted. We have lockers at the entry so you can store all your items securely.

The CopperString Experience Centre has free entry.

You sure do! To ensure you have the best experience possible we ask that all parties of eight or more people to book before attending the CopperString Experience Centre. To book, complete the form – Make a group booking. The team will get back to you and confirm your booking.

We’re pleased to offer a virtual tour of the CopperString Experience Centre. It’s not the same as the real thing, but it’s close. You’ll be able to interact with the exhibits, watch the videos and learn.

The CopperString Experience Centre is perfect for grade five students and up. However, the interactive displays, bright lights and immersive technology means all age groups (no matter how old or young) can enjoy the centre.

The Centre has lockers and storage in the reception area. These are free for guests to use as needed.
